A message from Senora:

Hola Padres del Cuarto Grado -
Muchas gracias to OLG parent Sra. Williams and Grandparent, Sra. Gravenish for coming to talk to the grade 4 students about La Navidad en Puerto Rico. First-grader Kyle Williams' "abuelita" (grandma) is from this commonwealth to the USA. We learned that Christmas celebrations last all the way until the end of January ! Sra. Williams and Sra. Gravenish led us in español, singing Cascabeles (jingle-bells). :D.
Check out the colorful poster in "La Galería Española" outside the library.
Feliz Navidad and Nuevo Año 2012. Señora Temple

V.E.A.P.!

Sadly, we only had two donations today for V.E.A.P. (thank you Claire!).
The students only homework tonight is to raid the pantry (with parent's permission) and bring some non-perishable food items, grocery bags/reusable tote bags/baby wipes/diapers, toothpaste, laundry detergent, sanitary wipes . . .

EVERYONE can bring in a spare can of beans. I am looking for 100% class participation in this worthy cause. Team with the most items brought in gets to skip 5th grade (pending Mrs. Trenary approval)!
