Classwork 10/8

Math: Cookie Math Cooke #3
This packet should be completed by Monday. We will analyze the results and use them to complete a project next week.

LA: Spelling and Weekly Skills tests have been graded and are in Powerschool.

SS: We read a very interesting article on student sleep habits in our weekly Time For Kids magazine. The bottom line of our discovery: growing bodies need sleep- so GET MORE!

Religion: We read about the life of Bartolome De Las Casas in our weekly Venture magazine. A former slave owner, he realized he couldn't hold slaves and be a Christian, so he spent his life trying to change Spain's views on the rights of humanity. Thomas Jefferson had books written by Bishop Las Casas in his library- many historians suggest that the Declaration of Independence echoes Bartolome's views!

10/9 - 10/10: Classroom open houses after Mass. Various teachers will be in their classrooms after the 5:15 Saturday and 7:30, 9:30, 11:30, and 6:00 Sunday Masses this weekend. I will be in my room after the 5:15 Saturday Mass- feel free to stop by as we thank the parish for all their help in our summer renovations.

UNIT 2 math test will fall either Thursday or Friday of next week. Keep an eye on the blog for more information.

Have a nice weekend,
Mr. Schmidt
