Classwork 9/12

Math: SMJ 14-16
SL 1.6
*Today we learned how to use the compass, as well as how to create perfect inscribed squares.  Some of the compasses are of a sorrier sort than the others- the best compasses by far are the old style metal ones.  If you see one of those (OfficeMax has them), snatch it up!

LA: We took our first selection test of the year for the story Akiak.  Students are asked to study spelling words for homework tonight.

SS: We continued work on our Parts of a Map packet (featuring the Southwest region of the U.S.).  The packet is due tomorrow in its entirety.

Spanish: Use wordreference.com to translate your four descriptions.
--> As always with Spanish, please contact Senora for more information

Thanks,
Mr. Schmidt

*Crowded points puzzle clue: the squares are concentric (they share the same exact center), and one of the squares is turned so it's standing up on its point (like a diamond).  Good luck!
